MatrixEasyMode / Roadmap
Roadmap for responsible Matrix operations
MatrixEasyMode is being built around the parts of self-hosted Matrix that matter after the first install: visibility, recovery, administrative safety, federation behavior, monitoring, and long-term operator confidence.
Getting Matrix + Element online is only the beginning. The harder problem is keeping the stack understandable, recoverable, observable, and safe to operate over time.
This roadmap is intentionally practical. Each planned release should improve the experience of the person responsible for operating the system when something needs attention, breaks, degrades, or requires a careful recovery path.
Current release
v0.1.0 established the public foundation
The initial public release established the deployment posture, staged startup model, operator-first self-hosting direction, and first public documentation foundation.
Operating principle
Easier to deploy should not mean irresponsible to operate
MatrixEasyMode should reduce avoidable deployment friction while keeping important operational details visible. Operators still need to understand the systems they are responsible for. The tooling should help them see failure modes earlier, recover more safely, and operate with more confidence.
Planned releases
Public roadmap
These roadmap pages describe the current direction for upcoming MatrixEasyMode releases. Scope may change as implementation and real deployment work expose better priorities.
Operational safety and control
Federation visibility, backup and recovery workflows, emergency lockdown, safer first-login credentials, scoped API tokens, and stronger admin-account protection.
Monitoring, health, and operator alerts
Operator-facing health checks, system status visibility, alert routing, and multi-channel notifications for conditions that require attention.
From deployment foundation to operator control
The roadmap moves MatrixEasyMode beyond the first-install experience and toward the operational surface area that matters when people rely on the system: federation visibility, recovery, admin protection, health checks, alerting, and responsible automation.
Roadmap principles
MatrixEasyMode should not pretend Matrix is simple by hiding the wrong details. The goal is to make important operational behavior visible, explainable, recoverable, and safer to manage.
